That’s why we’re delighted to partner with remarkable individuals such as Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky, who have followed their passions to achieve greatness for themselves and who are also committed to giving back to their communities and making a positive impact on the lives of others.
Meet Team Panasonic
We’re proud to introduce Team Panasonic, featuring world-class athletes Michael Phelps, Katie Ledecky, Sakura Kokumai and Lex Gillette. These leaders in their respective fields are also dedicated advocates who share our commitment to giving back and contributing to society.

Sakura Kokumai was born on Oct. 2, 1992. She started karate at the age of 7 and started competing internationally at 14. Sakura is currently ranked number 5 in the world for kata and will be on the U.S.A team at the 2020 Olympics.
What moves Michael Phelps
Michael is a great example of what can be achieved when you combine passion and perseverance with a clear and compelling vision. His love for swimming not only fueled his drive to win a record 23 Olympic Gold Medals (28 total), but also led him to create the Michael Phelps Foundation and its signature IM program. Thanks to this initiative, thousands of kids have already learned about water safety, have developed healthier habits in terms of their physical and mental wellbeing, and have been armed with the guidance needed to help them pursue their dreams. We're looking forward to helping Michael teach more kids how to excel both in and out of the pool.
What moves Katie Ledecky
For Katie Ledecky, education has always been her first priority. Her dedication to education drives her to make STEM opportunities available to the next generation of students. We're excited to be a part of her journey in helping to empower and introduce new career paths to students.
What moves Lex Gillette
Lex Gillette is a world record athlete who has pushed past challenges and overcome obstacles to achieve the impossible. Lex believes that the support of strong relationships and connections helps not only him, but others reach success and create breakthroughs.
What moves Sakura Kokumai
Sakura Kokumai shows up on the mat every day with the devotion and focus to not only be a better athlete, but to be an overall better person. It’s her drive that led her to become an elite, world-class athlete and it continues to push her to make each training session better than the last.
